Not my best work but I have a fascination with vintage, abandoned objects; especially vehicles. This old GMC sits on our friends farm in Springville, PA.

I’ve been waiting for Apple to update their current displays. I’m sure a lot of people expected at least a refresh at Macworld a few days ago but no dice. Incidentally, current Apple Cinema Displays use LCD components manufactured by LG-Philips. So while we are speculating what might be around the corner, here’s a section of a press release found on the LG-Philips corporate site:
Brighter Panels for Monitors, Thinner and Lower Power-Consuming Panels for Notebooks
To meet the growing need for high-quality LCD panels in the desktop monitor market for graphic design and video production uses, LG.Philips LCD has developed wider color gamut products, including the world’s largest monitor panel, measuring 30 inches diagonally, as well as a 26-inch model. Both panels boast superior color gamut of 117 percent.
What a disappointment! No updates of any sort to the Apple Cinema Displays at Macworld yesterday! The last time Apple displays were updated was nearly a year ago. I’m sure there have been some advances in LCD technology since then. It’s about time we got a refresh!
Adobe happens to have the lion’s share of the graphics and web design software market. Since they also happen to be a fairly large shop and they’ve tweaked the look of their applications across releases, I’m assuming they’ve got a few GUI developers in the payroll. So how come they can’t fix little inconsistencies in their leading applications’ user interface?
For instance, start up Illustrator (in Mac OS X) and open a blank document of any dimension. Now in the System Preferences, change the Appearance of the Operating System from Blue to Graphite (or vice versa).

Notice the discrepancies? Illustrator’s interface colors don’t change – or at least some of them. Hasn’t anyone at Adobe picked up on this?
